Background

Social Sustainable Development Organization (SSDO) is a research based non-governmental advocacy organization committed to contribute for the well-being of society through establishing an institutionalized system of social development and a responsible citizenship. It is a civil initiative aimed and equipped to stimulate public and policy dialogue on social development policies, legislative processes, democratization, and rule of law, good governance and human rights and civic action. As per requirement, SSDO require a Communication Coordinator based in Islamabad to assist the senior director for development, launching and promotion of magazine and other related job.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing support to senior director in engagement and liaison with stakeholders including project partners, diplomatic channels, donor agencies, parliamentarians, government officials, and media etc. • Mapping relevant stakeholders, donor liaison and coordination. Developing donor visit schedules/brochures, donor gifts and cards etc. Support preparation of background materials, briefs and information kits for visiting donors and high-profile guests/visitors. • Draft and edit articles, press releases, human interest stories and other advocacy/information materials. • Collaborate with the stakeholder by organizing site visits, facilitate photo coverage, and footage and utilizing both web-based and traditional media as appropriate. • Conduct the Interviews and hosting the talk shows and discussion panels ON Screen(camera). • Monitor and evaluate the use and effectiveness of media materials from targeted assigned stakeholders. Maintain a library of media coverage. • Ensure timely and quality production of advocacy and branding materials such as periodicals, supplements, calendars, briefing notes, Human Interest Stories, picture stories, videos, photographs, audio-visual materials, web resources etc. • Ensure strong documentation and timely reporting of program. Preparing reports, lessons learnt documentation, stories of change and other program related documentation as and when required. • Collecting, managing, and maintaining of data in both soft and hard copies in a timely manner. • Providing support to organization for coordination and organizing of meetings, workshops, conferences, trainings, and related activities relevant to the implementation of the Project. • Timely reporting senior management of developments in advocacy efforts and timely pursue for advice, if and when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• 16 years of education in social sciences preferably Mass Communication, Development Studies, Governance and Public Policies, Sociology, Anthropology, Gender Studies, and Social Work etc. • A minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in development sector on the relevant position.

Technical Competencies

• Understanding and Skills around communication, program management & reporting. • Experience in partnership and network management. Candidate should be able to work independently – with minimum supervision and guidance from supervisors. • Ability to travel frequently on short notice. • Excellent report writing and communication material development skills. • Excellent knowledge of social media handling and campaigns • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Languages

Excellent command of English, Urdu – verbal and written

IT Skills

MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and/or Canva and able to well present and analyse information.
