PESHAWAR - The Sustainable Social Development Organisation (SSDO) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in areas including counter-terrorism, violent extremism, organised crime, governance, women’s empowerment, child rights and environmental justice. The agreement seeks to enhance the capacity of parliamentarians and legislative committees through research support.
The MoU was signed at the office of the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly by Assembly Secretary Syed Wiqar Shah and SSDO Executive Director Syed Kausar Abbas in the presence of Speaker Babar Saleem Swati.
Speaking on the occasion, both sides emphasised that the partnership would help strengthen institutional coordination, support effective legislation and promote inclusive and informed governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Officials said the collaboration would also facilitate policy-oriented research and improve legislative responses to emerging social, security and governance challenges faced by the province.
