Islamabad: Executive Director of the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) Syed Kausar Abbas has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic boat accident in Spain which claimed the lives of several Pakistani nationals. He stated that this heartbreaking incident highlights the dire circumstances that compel migrants to undertake perilous journeys in search of better opportunities. Expressing solidarity with the affected families, Syed Kausar Abbas extended SSDO’s heartfelt condolences and shared in their pain. He emphasized that this tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address the root causes of irregular migration.

SSDO calls upon the Government of Pakistan and the international community to strengthen mechanisms for safe and legal migration while addressing the socio-economic challenges that force individuals to take such dangerous measures.

Furthermore, Syed Kausar Abbas urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and to take immediate steps to ensure the safety of those affected. He stressed the importance of proactive measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
